About Simba Home Health – Mission, Story, and Caregiving Team in Ohio
Our Story
Simba Home Health was founded in early 2025 by Irine Bore, a dedicated healthcare professional with a lifelong passion for serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Her inspiration began in childhood, growing up in Kenya, where her family’s home became a place of care and support for adults with developmental disabilities—an uncommon and quietly courageous choice within her community at the time. Watching her mother extend kindness and unwavering support despite societal norms, Irine developed a deep understanding of the importance of dignity, respect, and person-centered care.
After moving to the United States and pursuing a career in healthcare, Irine became a certified Direct Support Professional (DSP) and dedicated several years to providing care and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities. Over time, she saw how many care services focused only on basic needs rather than truly empowering individuals to lead independent, fulfilling lives. Determined to create something better, she founded Simba Home Health to provide care that goes beyond routine support—building a foundation of trust, respect, and meaningful connections.
The name Simba—the Swahili word for lion—reflects Irine’s vision for the agency. Just as a mother lion fiercely protects her cubs while also nurturing their independence and preparing them to thrive in their environment, Simba Home Health is committed to protecting, empowering, and guiding those we serve as they build lives of confidence and connection.
Today, we proudly serve Summit, Stark, and Portage Counties, providing compassionate, high-quality care that helps individuals thrive at home and in their communities.

At Simba Home Health, we believe that care is more than a service—it’s a commitment to dignity, independence, and meaningful relationships for every individual we serve.
